Marlene Dennis – Born: February 3rd, 1958. Passed in: Eskasoni, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was a pleasure on Feb. 3, 1958, that a bundle of joy had come to the world. To all the people that I touched throughout my life, I am sorry that I left you all. I died peacefully in my home. I left my four wonderful and loving children, Mary (Darren), Judina (Lloyd), Kevin (Erica), Flora (Noel); a special granddaughter, D’lorah, her loving companion, Harold Kabatay; godchildren, Plsit, Peter and Gail. She is also survived by her siblings, Charlie (Helen), Jean (Frank), Gerald, Cora (Brian), Frances (John), George (Ginger), Cecelia (Edwin), Steve (Florence), James (Debbie), Veronica, Noel Jr. (Cathy), Annette (Bertram), Lawrence (Sarah). Her extended family, Vernon (Norma), Pamela, Iris (Ray) and Gail (Darren); stepdad, Abraham (Sarah), especially my grandchildren, Nicole, Kevin ‘Kwis’, Kendra, Kyron, Shelby, Kevin ‘JiJ’em’, Kyson, Kenidi, Kydon, Noah, Alyssia, Pacey, Noel; two aunts, Mary Julia and Dolena; as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Noel Dennis and Mary Francis, extended family, Norman, John Ducan and Keith. I was a well-known person with a great sense of humour, who cared for the people of my community. I loved basket weaving, bingo, double up, playing cards, computer and the biggest thrill of all was my laughter and an open ear for all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Family parish. Family have allergies to roses. Visitation was held on Jan. 26, 2012, at the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni, and continued until funeral mass on Jan. 28, 2012, at the Holy Family Church, Fr. Martin MacDougall officiated. Starzynski, Florence – On Angel’s Wings surrounded by our love, peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 85. Our mother is now reunited with our loving father Frederick Peter and our brother Michael. Beloved mother of Laverne Guzzo (late Orlando), Frederick Peter Jr. (Veronica), Leslie Starzynski (Paula), Brian Starzynski (Beatrice), Wendy Miller and Patti Starzynski. Grandmother of 22, great grandmother of 33 and great-great grandmother of 3. Sister of Flossie (late Bill), Doug (late Eleanor), James (Florilla), Marlene (Al), Roxy (Ronnie), Albert (Fran), Donny (Glenda) and Cathy. Reunited with her parents Albert and Mary Howe and her sisters Anne (late Mike), Pauline (late Woody), Dorothy (Alvin), Blanche (Jock) and Laverne. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Friends were able to call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on, January 24, 2012. Funeral Mass was celebrated from Our Lady of Good Counsel, January 25, 2012, Rev. Pat Woods officiated. Brenda Louise Francis – Pictou Landing First Nation; It is with sad hearts we announce the passing of our sister Brenda Louise Francis age 49 who passed away on Saturday January 7th, 2012 at home. Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Louis Joseph and Ruby Irene (Knockwood) Francis. Brenda was a lifelong resident of Pictou Landing First Nation and enjoyed spending time in New Brunswick. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church. Brenda enjoyed bowling, playing pool, fishing, hunting and arts and crafts. Playing baseball was a favorite sport of Brenda’s where she played pitcher. Although having no children of her own she could be found taking care of the needs of many children. Surviving are her brothers and sisters; Joseph Francis, Kenneth Francis, Sarah Clark, Margaret Francis, Peter Francis, all of Pictou Landing First Nation, Foster sister Frances Nicholas, a large number of nieces and nephews. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Brothers; Douglas, Matthew, Wilfred, Gerald, Noel and Larry, also a sibling in infancy. Her remains rested at the home of her sister, Sarah Clark, 40 Rose Ave. Pictou Landing First Nation. Funeral Mass was held on January 12, from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Father officiated. Burial was held in the Parish Cemetery. Anthony (Tony) Levi 52, of Elsipogtog passed away peacefully at the Dr. George-L. Dumont Regional Hospital on Thursday, January 26, 2012. Born in Elsipogtog, he was a proud North American Indian. He was the son of the late Tom and late Jane (Francis) Levi. Tony worked as a woodsman and a fisherman. Tony  will be sadly missed by his daughter; Allison Francis (Jude) of Indian Island, two grand children; Jacob and Edwin Barlow, his sweetheart; Jacqueline Clair of Elsipogtog, step daughter; Princess Clair of Elsipogtog, Step son; Paul Francis of Elsipogtog, his three sisters; Anne Ward (late Colin) of Eel Ground, Karen Clair (Wayne) of Elsipogtog, Mary Tenass (Brian) of Red Bank, three brothers; Lee Allen Levi (Anne) of Elsipogtog, Paul Levi of Elsipogtog, Evan Levi of Elsipogtog (Jill Goojoo) of Eskasoni, his god parents; Stephen Francis and Frances Augustine both of Elsipogtog and also several nieces and nephews.

Joseph Patrick Peter Paul 47, of Elsipogtog passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton on Tuesday, January 24th, 2012.  Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Raymond and late Pauline (Scully) Peter Paul.  Pat was employed as a custodian at the Elsipogtog School for many years. Pat will be sadly missed by his wife; Sally (Sock) Peter Paul, three sons; Jay Joseph (Amber), Andy Joseph (Sandy), Ricky-Lee Peter Paul all of Elsipogtog, six grandchildren; Alora, Ryder, Cassidy, Dante, Kaleb, Nikita, two God children; Katerica and Melissa. Pat is also survived by three sisters; Lorraine Peter Paul, Annette Peter Paul and Rose Sock (Simon Joe) and four brothers; Junior Peter Paul, Michael Peter Paul, Jacob Peter Paul, Abram Peter Paul all of Elsipogtog and several nieces nephews. Pat was predeceased by both his parents and his grandparents. Pat rested at his residence, 264 Levi Street, Elsipogtog.  A Funeral Mass was held on, January 28th, 2012, St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Elsipogtog.  Interment took place in the parish cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses on the 5th floor Intensive Care Unit at the Moncton City Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Pat.
