Peter Jerome Gould – Waycobah

GOULD, Peter Jerome – 66, Waycobah First Nation, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Bucklaw, Victoria Co. Born in Whycocomagh he was a son of the late Andrew and Mary Agnes (Phillips) Gould. Peter was a member of Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. Surviving are his daughters, Lisa (Sheldon) Marshall, Chapel Island; Annie Gould (Victor Googoo), Petula Googoo (Roger), both of Waycobah; Nancy Bernard (Thomas), Eskasoni; son, William (Shauna), Waycobah; sister, Mary Joan Lafford (Karl), Eskasoni; brothers, Roddie and Richard (Isabel Martin), both of Waycobah; uncle, Noel J. Gould, Waycobah; aunt, Veronica (Flo) Young, Eskasoni; 22 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon Cope; brothers, John, Bernie, Wilfred, Joseph; sisters, Barbara Jean, Annie Elizabeth. Visitation was held on, April 28, in the family residence, 8909 Hwy 105, Waycobah. Funeral Mass was held on, April 30, from Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Waycobah. Father Robert McNeil officiated. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Funeral arrangements for Peter were under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Mrs. Shirley Ward, of Eel Ground, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at her residence, at the age of 69. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Ward) Tennass and worked as an adult caretaker. She was a member of St Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church. Shirley is survived by her four daughters Wanda, Colleen, and Barbara all of Eel Ground, and Stephanie (Patrick Ward) of Red Bank; two sons Joseh Leonard (Sarah Ward) and Albert Wayne (Judi Ann) both of Eel Ground; five sisters Doris (Peter Jerome) of Mariah, Lois Genova of Red Bank, Karen Jerome of Red Bank, Claudia Tennass of Red Bank, and Linda Vicaire of Eel Ground; four brothers Hubert Tennass, Charlie Tennass, Brian Tennass (Mary) and Terry Tennass, all of Red Bank; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters Genevieve Tennass, Mary Jane Tennass, and Mary Helen Tennass, as well as a brother Joe Leo Tennass. The family received relatives and friends at Shirley’s residence, 17 Riverview Rd East, Eel Ground, on April 22, and on Monday, April 23. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church on April 24. Father Tom Fowler officiated. Holly Ann Knockwood – Indian Brook

Knockwood, Holly Ann – 17, Indian Brook, Born on December 4, 1994, at George DeMont Hospital, Moncton, NB passed away at home. Her parents were the late Anne Margaret Knockwood, Indian Brook and Godfrey Augustine, Big Cove, NB. Holly enjoyed tanning, music and taking walks with her cousin Naomi and friends. She was previously a student at Hants East and C.E.C. in Truro. Survived by brothers Guillermo, Dartmouth; Rodrigo Knockwood, Millbrook; aunts Tracy, Billie-Jo, Janet, Lisa all of Indian Brook; Jackie (Raymond) Augustine, Big Cove; uncles John Henry Knockwood, Indian Brook; Tony and Burton Augustine, Big Cove; grandmothers Harriet Knockwood, Indian Brook; Mary Irene Augustine (Joseph), Big Cove; Godmother Billie-Jo Knockwood, Godfather Harris Augustine; many cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Joey, sister Christina, grandfathers Clarence Knockwood, Anthony Augustine, aunts Cyrilla and uncles Clarence Knockwood, Marlow and Brendon Augustine. Visitation was hled at her grandmother’s Harriet Knockwood at 133 Tuffs Street, Indian Brook. Funeral Mass was held at the St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook. Henry J., “Hank”. Age 96 of Cincinnati, passed Monday, April 23,2012. Beloved husband of the late Ann (nee Nolte) Peters. Loving father of Ross (Dottie) Peters, Amy (Jim) Garland, Trudy (Mike) Tierney, Lance Peters and Cameron (Michelle) Peters. Cherished grandfather of eight and proud great-grandfather of nine. Dear brother of Kate, Doris, Bazil and Leo as well as the late Freeman, Vi, Lila, Joe, Mary and Shirley. He will be missed by a host of family and friends. Hank was born in Bear River Nova Scotia, Canada. Hank was a devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Hank was a soccer coach for many years and introduced soccer to the Olympian Club in the 1960’s. Hank was well known for his famous “Hank Peters Lumberjack Shows”, which is the longest running professional lumberjack show. In 2005 Hank was inducted into the Lumberjack Hall of Fame.
