On June 2, 2012 – The Listuguj First Nation held its Election. One Chief and 12 Councillors were elected. Dean Vicaire was the successful candidate for the position of Chief, with a total of 603 votes, which was almost double the next candidate below him Scott Martin, who had 341 votes. Five people ran for Chief and 52 people ran for Councillor. Vicaire replaces former Chief Allison Metallic who didn’t run in this election.

Darcy Gray who had the most votes (804) was elected as well as Serge Gray (532), Wanda (Beddase) Metallic (481), Derek Barnaby (474), Delphine Metallic (468), Chris Wysote (454), Sheila Swasson (448), Kevin (Bixie) Methot (447), Calvin Barnaby (436), Tracey Mettalic (429), Brian Caplin Jr. (425), and Wendell Metallic (399) were all elected as Councillor.
