Atlantic Regional Indian Residential Schools Commemorative Event

The newly formed First Nations Centre of Balance and Resiliency Association hosted their first Atlantic Regional Indian Residential Schools Commemoration Event: “From Victim to Survivor.” The gathering was held at Holiday Inn in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on September 12 to 14, 2012.

The three day commemoration event brought together survivors, their families and non-aboriginal participants to learn about the history of the residential schools, Mi’kmaq culture and celebrate the resilience of residential school survivors. The ...
