On a blustery and rainy National Tree Day, the Mi’kmaw Conservation Group (MCG) and Millbrook Fisheries hosted a tree planting event in Millbrook First Nation. MCG and Fisheries technicians led a handful of brave participants to plant 585 trees and shrubs next to the Pow Wow grounds in Millbrook. This event was organized as part of MCG’s and Millbrook Fisheries efforts to plant trees and shrubs along the banks of Lepper Brook and McClures Brook to help increase the number and kinds of tree species in those areas.
