Colin Maloney of Sipekne’katik is set to defend his Red Jacket at the 10th Annual Mi’kmaq Masters golf tournament being held on June 7th and June 8th, 2014 at the Mountain golf and country club near Truro Nova Scotia. Maloney who now holds 4 Red Jackets will be welcoming all challengers to this Year’s event.

Last year we had the opportunity to witness a playoff between Colin Maloney, Brett Googoo both from Sipekne’katik and Leon Paul of Membertou. Maloney, who had won a previous title in a playoff against Shayne Stevens of Eskasoni a three time winner of the Masters himself, took care of his competition on the first playoff hole.

The 2013 field consisted of 43 golfers from across Nova Scotia in six different divisions based on skill and ability.  Last year’s winners included; Ian Knockwood B Division Champion, Jim Hepworth C Division Champion, Adrian Paul Masters Division Champion, Vera Marr Ladies Division Champion and Quinton Gloade Junior Champion. This year we are expecting between 50-60 golfers from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI to vie for the Masters Title.

For a fee of $150.00 per person you receive two rounds of golf, Power Carts Both Days, a guaranteed prize valued between $25.00 and $40.00, three meals including a steak and lobster dinner on the first night followed by a full breakfast and fish and chips for lunch on the second day.
