Every year, the Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs secretariat (APCFNC) honours the hard work and celebrates the success of the men and women working to support their communities through the commercial fisheries. In the last 15 years, dedicated members of Mi’kmaq and Maliseet First Nations have built commercial fishery enterprises that employ 1800 people on-shore in the communities and on the water in close to 300 fishing vessels.
