We came together to share skills that keep us rooted in the natural rhythms of nature. We honored our Harvesters and our Missing and Murdered Sisters across Turtle Island. A special ceremony, a lot of food and great times is what was happening in our community during the super moon in November. On Sunday November 13th the Sacred Fire was lit and continued to burn bright for 4 days. Throughout these days we had many events going on starting with a Drawstring Demonstration, there was a community cranberry harvest held at “Big Lake”, a water ceremony at our “Frog Pond” and we were honored to have Elders Josie and Frank Augustine join us to do a Spirit Name Ceremony. We ended the Gathering with a Potluck Supper the night before the fire was put to rest. A Huge Thank You to all our Harvesters, we appreciate you.

On December 14th 2016, we held our Annual Christmas Supper with a total of 156 people in attendance. It was a night of laughs, good food, good conversation, a special guest and a dance at the end. We would like to send out a huge thank you to Mi’kmaq Family and Children Services for their incredibly generous donation of toys to the kids.  It was a great event and turned out awesome.

December 19th, Councillor Carol Ann Potter with the help of her “Dream Team”, a lot of working hands and donations from local businesses; put on a “Winter Wonderland” night with Christmas lights, local entertainment, dancing, hot drinks, carnival treats and a classic outdoor movie.
