Did you ever have a passion for something that you dreamed of doing and then it becomes a reality. That is exactly what happened to Crystal Gloade of Millbrook First Nation.

Recently I had the opportunity to work with Crystal and asked her if she would be interested in sharing her story and she graciously agreed.

Crystal recently retired from The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq to focus on her craft business. Crystal makes various items but most recently has focused on making birch bark Angels

I asked her some questions and this is how she responded

Where did you come up with the Idea?:

I actually got the idea from my Grandmother Betsy. She loved angels, and would make these paper doll cutout angel dolls for my sister and into play with. That’s what started it all… It’s been over a year now since I introduced my very first Birch bark Angel, and I named her in memory of my grandmother. ...
