Chief Terry Paul made the momentous first cut of steel that will be used in the construction of the new Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre (MSWC). A press event on Monday, February 2, 2015, at East Coast Metal Fabrication (ECMF) at the Sydport Industrial Park offered a glimpse of the upcoming work that will be completed by First Nations workers.

Memski Projects Inc., a partnership between Membertou and Eskasoni, has teamed with ECMF to contract East Eagle Contracting to build the the MSWC project’s metal work.
