The Atlantic Policy Congress (APC) of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat hosted their Atlantic First Nations Mental Wellness and Addictions Training Conference from 15-17 July 2025 in Moncton, NB. The Crowne Plaza once again played host to the conference.
This year’s conference saw over 100 delegates, speakers, and exhibitors attend the three-day training conference. Proceedings opened and closed in a good way with words and ceremony from Elders Chris Brooks and Glenda Wysote-Labillois while Elle Michael once again offered insight and humour as the conference’s master-of-ceremony. The conference also featured a banquet dinner with special performance by Morgan Toney.
Training this year focused on lateral violence and transforming conflict to kindness. Heather Woodward delivered a day and a half of training while additional presentations were provided by Chris Brooks, Glenda Wysote-Labillois, and Cheyenne Joseph.
Feedback from the conference has been resoundingly positive with delegates noting the training, opportunities to re-connect and network, and the banquet dinner and performance as specific highlights from the event.
APC is proud to be able to host this important annual event to continue to provide valuable training and for the mental wellness and addictions frontline workers who serve First Nations throughout the region.
