Lewis, Charlie, 82, of Paqtnkek Mikmaw Nation, passed away on January 12, 2013 at home. Born in Paqtnkek, he was a son of the late Maurice and Annie (Sylliboy) Lewis. Charlie was a woodsman most of his working life and a generous kind hearted man. He also operated a bottle exchange and was a former Band Councillor. A life long outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed eel fishing and blueberry raking in Maine. He was also an avid card and bingo player. He was a foster parent to many children. He is survived by children: Linda (Jack) Julian -DeWilde, Paqtnkek; Chief Gerard Julian (Rosalie), Paqtnkek; Diane Paul, Paqtnkek; Mary Paul, Paqtnkek; Ann Marie Paul (Kerry), Paqtnkek; Laurie Julian, Paqtnkek; Kim Julian (Bobby), Paqtnkek; brother in law Ron Julien, Ottawa; many grand children, greatgrandchildren, and Godchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel, daughter, Shirley Ann Julian; brothers: Noel and Steven and Lawrence; Sisters: Bridget Ann and Mary Catherine. The family would like to thank his dedicated caregivers: Sandra Simon and Margie Ash. Visitatation will be after 4:00pm Monday at his home in Paqtnkek. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton with Reverand Charles Cameron presiding.
