Calling all Mi’kmaq Elders, Aboriginal Elders, Mi’kmaq/Aboriginal peoples and non-natives who would like to help the Mi’kmaq Burial Ground Research and Restoration Association and Elder Henry Dorey, Native Council Nova Scotia Zone 10, to ‘Save An Ancient Mi’kmaq Burial Ground dating back at least 5000 years with a Sweet Grass Ceremony, Drumming and singing  to honour our Mi’kmaq Ancestors and welcome Spring Equinox, 1pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, Dory’s Landing, Gaspereau Lake, Aldershot, Annapolis County,  Nova Scotia. Storm date: March 22, 2013.

Come to the Sacred Fire and offer Tobacco, Prayers, good intentions and energy to help us keep our culture and heritage by protecting this special Sacred site from Nova Scotia Power’s construction and flooding.

Bring your own chair and something for potluck feast following ceremony. Dress for the cold. Everyone welcome.

The Mi’kmaq Burial Grounds and Restoration Association supports Henry Dorey from Dorey’s Landing in his on going effort to protect the Mi’kmaq Burial Ground at Gaspereau Lake . Henry Dorey and his ancestors lived at this site in 1930’s.
