On August 14, 2012, Eskasoni Chief and Council and the Honourable John Duncan, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development were in attendance as they officially held a sod turning ceremony as they announced the expansion of a new Chief Allison M. Bernard Memorial High School gymnasium.
