Eskasoni – Mi’kmaq First nations elementary and middle school children across Cape Breton Island are celebrating as they have received The Aboriginal Recording of the Year Award from Music Nova Scotia at the industry brunch in Liverpool, Nova Scotia in November.

The Songwriting writing project was created by Cape Breton singer, song-writer Angelo Spinazzola between 2008 and 2011.The song concepts are based on Mi’kmaq culture with the Mi’kmaq language incorporated in each of the compositions.
