March just seemed to fly by… what with the March Break and all those storm days; lots of catching up to do. So, welcome April… I think. Right now, I am kind of afraid of the “April Showers”. All the snow that has accumulated on the exterior of our school has resulted in a few leaks. Needless to say when something like that happens in my library, I worry about my books. Let’s hope that it is restricted to the one corner.

Everyone has had his or her fair share of cancellations, and so have we. The big trip to the Rath Eastlink Community Centre for the “staff verses students” hockey game, skating, swimming, etc., was canceled during our Winter Carnival, so our administration is busy trying to reschedule another date.

Even though there have been a lot of cancellations, including the MASH trips, it has given our badminton club some extra time to practice for the upcoming competition at the end of the month. We wish them well.

At least the bad weather didn’t put a damper on the students’ work on their science fair projects. Student in grades 4 to 9 have just finished the Science Fair projects and presentations. Judging took place on Friday, March 27th. The winners in the following categories are…

Grade 4
3rd – Jaylyn;
2nd – Kaitlyn & Harmony; and
1st – Carmine & Conner.

Grade 5 & 6
3rd – Shyanne (Grade 5);
2nd – Ocean (Grade 5); and
