Gail Christmas is the youngest female Councillor ever elected to the Membertou First Nation.

Gail Christmas always dreamed of becoming a leader. Having struggled with drug and alcohol addictions as a teenager and young adult, that dream seemed impossible. Now, at 28, she’s the youngest female Councillor to have ever been elected to Membertou First Nation.

A 2015 Child & Youth Care graduate, Gail was able to make a difference in her life and pursue her dream. She is proudly four years into sobriety and is focused on giving back to her community by being a positive model for youth in Membertou, encouraging them to “never give up on their dreams.”
