Oyster Farm Employee Moving Cages.

Indian Island, a small community with less than 150 acres of land located on the coast of Northumberland Strait in Kent County, New Brunswick, is home to the Indian Island First Nation. Along its shores, this community of slightly more than 100 residents has built a sustainable and successful aquaculture business.

A feasibility study conducted between 2004 and 2007 concluded that Indian Island’s location in Richibucto Bay, at the mouth of the Richibucto River, rich in biodiversity and natural nutrients, made it an ideal location for oyster farming. The development, learning and building phase began in 2007 and continued over the next four years.
