Candidates in the October 2018 Qalipu Band elections were also welcomed to meet and greet the public. The candidates for Chief were present: Brendan Mitchell (current Chief and running for re-election, and the two contenders: Clyde Russell and Hayward Young.

Of the six candidates running for Vice Chief only Keith Cormier was able to make it.

There was a great turn out and everyone was very respectful and friendly.
