The skies dropped over 60 millimetres of rain on Sunday, October 28. Inside the Kluscap Room at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre, we were only soaking in all the talent of the very first L’nutaq’l Mi’kmaw Music Showcase.

Dion Denny and Karlee Johnson co-hosted the nine-act show which also included language updates and one very special tribute.

Chief Terry Paul of Membertou welcomed us all before the music started, highlighting the importance of preserving our language and sharing it through different forms such as stories and music. On that final Sunday of October, the musicians were telling the stories in their own words.
