Good morning and welcome to Shirley’s Corner where one never knows what to expect. Today we are on an adventurous outing of the back trails of Kluskap Ridge RV and Campground all snug in the hills of Englishtown, Nova Scotia.

I arrived here a bit late in the afternoon but it still gave me enough time to wonder off into the jungles of this rustic woodland where nature is still filled with the wild of long ago. I came upon a cross road where I stood for sometime deciding which direction should I go…. On the left was a well manicured cultivated land almost pristine from what I saw. Nope not my type of scenery so I started walking towards the right and soon came upon a sweat-lodge set on natures own carpet of moss.

Wow now that was a welcoming sight to see out in the wilderness, it gives you a feel of connection with its surroundings of nature. The tranquility of one with Mother Earth rises from the bareness of one’s toes to the very top of one’s head. It is then my body, spirit and soul burst with joy & pride as I became one with the forest that embraced my being with its warmth.

I stood with eyes closed and taking in deep breaths of the freshness of all living matter that circled me as it lifted me off the ground and gentle brought me back down to its surface of gravel under my feet. The mighty gut began rumbling from the pit, I realized that I was getting hungry; wouldn’t you know it I didn’t bring snacks only my Tim Horton tea. I looked ...
