From August 15-17, 2019, Eskasoni First Nation was honoured to host this year’s 30th National Firefighting Competition where aboriginal firefighters representing their respected communities, nations and provinces came from coast-to-coast to vie for the title of National Aboriginal Firefighter Champion.

This year’s national competition included top teams from Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, along with Elsipogtog, N.B., which represented Atlantic Canada. The top seven teams of aboriginal volunteer firefighters went head-to-head in a variety of drills.
