This blue mussel, is what we will be using to examine aspects of ecosystem health off Merigomish.

Climate change is an important issue that needs to be addressed in Nova Scotia and Canada. Canada is predicted to increase average yearly temperatures by more than double the global amount of between 1-5 degrees Celsius. These changes, mainly brought upon human intervention, influence everything in our lives but what specific changes will we see? In Nova Scotia, changes will be seen in coastal communities, forest ecosystems, and insect populations.
