A small 2015 start-up managed by the Mi’gmaq Maliseet Aboriginal Fisheries Management Association (MMAFMA) has not only grown into a successful kelp aquaculture operation but a rapidly growing community-owned processing company called SALAWEG Inc. that is now selling high quality kelp products across the Gaspé region and the Province of Québec.
