Mi’kmaw Circle of Hope Society was founded in 2019 by Heidi Marshall, who saw and felt the need to address the concerns Mi’kmaw people face. Mi’kmaw Circle of Hope Society’s main priority us to deliver programming which focuses on community and culture. The Committee and coordinators for this event include Heidi Marshall, Vanessa Marshall, Lindsay Sylvester, Karen Bernard, Cheryl Gehue, Brittney Paul and Trinity Maloney.

Wearing Our Identity: Celebration of Indigenous Woman and Resilience was a chance to give aboriginal woman a chance to showcase their aboriginal designs in a fashion show. This event was to showcase aboriginal work and was very successful that this event will be yearly. We had tons of help from the committee, coordinators Brittney and Trinity, volunteers and our 15 sponsors. We had fashions designers & beaders from both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick who were able to be apart of this event. We were able to showcase work from Nina Kent, Karen Bernard, Jasine Bernard, Ingrid Brooks, Arlene Stevens, Marilyn Francis, Shanna Francis, Marina Young, Mirande Gould, Sunshine Paul-Martin, Katrina Sock, Leah Doucette, Natasha Barlow, Doloros Sock, Janean Marshall, Donna Stephens, Freda Levi, Jocelyn Marshall, Mairi Denny, Jeneva Dennis, Jessica Sack and Tessa Touesnard. We were happy to work with Sarah Prosper who choregraphed a very powerful dance with young ladies from around Una’maki and choreographed our models who all volunteered their time ...
