The Atlantic Policy Congress of First Nations Chiefs Secretariat (APC) and Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) are hosting a bilingual in-person workshop on the Eastern Canada Communal Commercial Licensing Policy Review on March 8 – 9th, in Moncton, NB, that is an extension of the virtual sessions that were hosted on February 9th and 14th.

The Eastern Canada Communal Commercial Licensing Policy Review aims to adjust DFO’s communal commercial licensing framework to better support outcomes for Indigenous communities and organizations in Eastern Canada by:

  • Working closely with Indigenous partners to better understand communities’ needs, perspectives, irritants, and pressure points with respect to communal commercial licensing today; and
  • Developing policy options to support greater clarity, transparency, and predictability around communal commercial licensing decisions, in line with current realities.

In this session, we will go in greater depth of the content covered in the virtual sessions. We welcome Fisheries Managers, AAROM’s, and Licence Holders to join us.

Should you have any questions or wish to attend the workshop, please contact Jade Robinson at jade.robinson@apcfnc.ca
