Assembly of First Nations

November 14, 2023, Corner Brook—The Newfoundland Office of the Assembly of First Nations is pleased to announce that Brendan Mitchell has been selected to represent Newfoundland as its first Regional Chief at the Assembly of First Nations in Canada.

Regional Chief Mitchell has been serving as the Interim Regional Chief for the past several months and will now assume the role on a full-time basis for the upcoming three-year term. He has been a member of the Council of Qalipu First Nation since its formation in 2011 and is currently serving his third consecutive term as Chief.

Regional Chief Mitchell is thankful for this opportunity and looks forward to working with community.
