Kwe’ from LSK!! Another month of school has come and gone. We hope you all had a very Happy Valentine’s Day!! And what about all that snow!! Our students, and should I add, our staff, enjoyed the days off. Nothing better than a bit of snow to prepare for the snow sculpture building. Snow that was cleared from our community sidewalks and streets has been dumped onto our soccer field. It is great for our students to do some sliding and climbing on the mounds… safely out of the way of traffic. Wela’lin Sipekne’katik Band.

February the groundhog didn’t see his shadow so the prediction is an early spring. Our school and community celebrated Shrove Tuesday, but I like to call it, PANCAKE DAY!!! Thank you to our cafeteria staff for our pancake lunch, complete with bacon, sausage, strawberries or blueberries topped off with a dollop of whipped cream. Delicious. Also, thank you to the Sipekne’katik Band for offering the same type of meal to the community in the evening. Wela’lioq.

Now we are into March. Everyone is looking forward to March Break. One full week away from school. It is also the month for elementary report cards and our Sikw Culture Day. No details on the activities for the day, but I am sure they will involve some outdoor activities.
