Governance Committee to develop Land Management and Citizenship laws

Membertou has recently embarked upon a Governance initiative where it hopes to develop its own laws in relation to land management and membership/citizenship. Approximately thirty volunteers from the Membertou/Maupeltu community have applied to Chief and Council to become members of the Governance Committee. This committee has been mandated by Chief and Council to develop laws and codes in relation to land management and citizenship.
