Sandford Custer proudly displays the finished product.

For some time now Woodland Cree Sanford Custer has been visiting Nova Scotia to see his long time friend, Marie Walker and explore this part of the country. The first time he landed at the Halifax airport he felt at home with all the rocks, hills and lakes. It reminded him of his home in northern Saskatchewan. The more he visited he found it was the friendly people who also reminded him of his childhood home.

Sanford spent most of his young life on the trapline on the Churchill River, there he learned the old ways of fishing, hunting, and trapping from his grandfather and uncles.
