Another school year done and dusted! It has been quite the year, what with Covid-19 and all the difficulties associated with the pandemic. But we are a strong nation, and together we have done our best for our community, students and staff. LSK and Sipekne’katik should be very proud of our efforts. They said it takes a village to raise a child, but it takes a community to ensure that child is safe, healthy, educated and loved. I just want to express my thanks to the many organizations and people in our community who have supported our school this year. So… Wela’lioq Chief and Council, the health centre staffs, band office staff, elders, volunteers, education department and others who are too numerous to mention.

Congratulations to our eleven graduates… Tomaz Francis, Serenity Julian, John McDonald, Tanner Peter-Paul, Jennifer Miller, Prezley Paul, Gabey Paul, Kaleah Sack, Joseph Jackson, Andrew Simon and Jacobi-Lynn Marr. We wish you all the best with your next journey and we are so very proud of you all. Good luck!! Also, thank you to John for his valedictorian speech and to Gabey for his poem.

Speaking about the graduation, it was my privilege to hand out the diplomas and awards to our students, along with the assistance of our acting vice principal, Greg Marr.
