Hello and welcome to Shirley’s Corner. Well Halloween has been put away for another year. I must say that this was the best Halloween we had in years. The weather was just perfect for all the ghost and goblins that were out and about. Now here we are getting ready for the Jolly Fat Fella to pay us a visit like soon.

Something strange in your neighborhood… sound familiar. Yeah, you’re right it’s from the theme song of Ghost Busters. Usually around Halloween Buddie and Nitap hang around on Halloween Eve. We make a huge fire out in back and put the old screen by the shed waiting for the arrival of the creatures from Spooks Creek of the other realm.

Where do I start… I bought a yellow pumpkin from Sobeys and took it with me when I headed to my favourite place Kluskap Lodge for the weekend. It was the best Indian Summer I have seen in years. Think I finally got my tan on (laughing). I truly enjoy this place in Englishtown it is my home away from home and my sanctuary when I need that comfort from Mother Earth and my Ancestors.

The sun was about to set, and I had to capture that moment so I rushed about trying to get my things into the house so I could have a chance to sit on the veranda with my hot coffee and just gaze at the wonderment of my surroundings, the lake, the mountains, and the trees that wrapped around the vicinity.
