Kwey aqq Pijilasi to another round of Shirley’s Corner. Spring is making ready my most enjoyed summer activity. This is when the cutest little critters emerge from the ground in the evenings just as the sun takes a dive behind the horizon. My ears perk up to the sound of flapping wings from every direction looking for the evening buffet, that would ease their appetites.

I suppose you are wondering what am I jabbering on about? Let me introduce you to the (Phyllophagous) commonly known as the June Bug who by the way belongs to the Scarab family. These bugs come from a long line of frightening creatures that have been around like forever. Then we have the (Chiropteran) the scientific name for the Bat, yet another misunderstood critter of time. However, there is good news for the Nova Scotian mammals these little creatures are making a comeback according to studies done in 2021. But I will not get into the nitty gritty of the bats or June Bugs for the moment, my job is writing stories not the history of my subjects.

I suppose the war of the Brown Bats and June Bugs have been going on since creation because the Bats staple consist of June Bugs and other little vermin’s that cross their path on any given night, this includes the notorious blood suckers such as the mosquitos, blackflies and other gnats.
